Are These the 10 Most Confusing Emojis?

In March, a study found that older folks were confused by some basic emojis . . . like the Flushed Face, with wide eyes and blushed cheeks.  But let’s face it, there are some emojis that NO ONE understands.

A study by Preply.com has produced a list of “the most CONFUSING emojis of 2024.”  Here’s the Top 10, and what people THINK they mean:

1.  Nail Polish.  Most people think it means “classy” or “posh.”  But others use it plainly as “nail polish” . . . as “don’t mind me” . . . or as “self-care.”

2.  Dashing Away.  Most people think it means “moving fast.”  But others use it as “farting” . . . as “exhaustion” . . . as “out of breath” . . . or as “smoking.”

3.  Upside-Down Face.  Most people think it means “sarcasm.”  But others use it as “smiling through pain” . . . just the same as a regular smiley face . . . or as “passive aggression.”

4.  Persevering Face.  Most people think it means “frustration.”  But others use it as “cringe” . . . as “helplessness” . . . as “sadness” . . . or as “perseverance.”

5.  Woman Tipping Hand.  Most people think it means “oh well.”  But others use it as “feeling sassy” . . . as “I have a suggestion” . . . or as “feeling sarcastic.”

6.  Dotted Line Face.  Most people think it means “I want to disappear.”  But others use it as “I feel invisible” . . . as “speechless” . . . as “depression” . . . or as “submissiveness.”

7.  Money with Wings.  Most people think it means “losing money.”  But others use it as “gaining money” . . . as “flaunting wealth” . . . or as “transferring money.”

8.  Sleepy Face.  Most people think it means “sadness.”  But others use it as “tired” . . . as “sickness” . . . or as “disgusted.”
