As the bonkers Netflix documentary Tiger King turns Joe Exotic into a household name, Complex decided to rank the best songs by the aspiring country singer, who somehow found time along with his other endeavors to make a lot of videos (which can be found on YouTube.) Here are their picks for the 10 best:

  1. “Here Kitty Kitty”
  2. “I Saw a Tiger”
  3. “Because You Love Me”
  4. “I Can’t Believe This Feeling”
  5. “Bring It On (Please Unite)”
  6. “Do You Ever Wonder What Love Could Do?”
  7. “This Is My Life”
  8. “GW And Me
  9. “My First Love”
  10. “Pretty Woman Lover”

But did Joe actually sing on these video? Both the Los Angeles Times and Vanity Fair suggest otherwise, with both reporting the songs were written by Clinton Johnson Band members Vince Johnson and vocalist Danny Clinton. The producer of Exotic’s reality TV show Rick Kirkham told Vanity Fair that Exotic couldn’t “hold a tune,” and “it was a big joke within the crew and staff that it wasn’t him [singing in the videos]—but he was damned insistent to anyone and everyone, including us and my studio crew, that that was him.” Johnson also said “two or three songs [into the collaboration] when I was on YouTube one night and just happened to look up Joe Exotic. And there he was, lip-syncing and acting like the ghost of Elvis [in these music videos].” Johnson said he wanted credit, but eventually gave up because he didn’t think the songs or music would ever go anywhere.
