Katy Perry Is Sued By Designer Katie Perry
An Australian fashion designer named Katie Perry has had enough of world-famous singer Katy Perry.
The designer has filed a trademark breach lawsuit against the artist.
The Australian Perry owns a clothing label in Sydney. She now goes by the name of Katie Taylor. Back in 2009, the singer’s lawyers asked Taylor to withdraw her trademark for the Katie Perry label that she established a year earlier. The request was pulled before things went to court.

Fast forward to 2019. Taylor claims that Perry’s clothing and accessories appear all over stores in Australia. The case will start in November. Taylor said this is a “David and Goliath fight” and “The singer has ignored my trademark and continued to sell infringing goods unlawfully in Australia.”
