Living History Village at the Fredericksburg Heritage Day Festival

The long house, dug-out canoe, corn grinding, flint napping, hide tanning, and much more will be on display at the festival as part of the Patawomeck Living History Village.  The Living History Village is located near the intersection of Charlotte and Sophia Street, across from the parking garage at the Riverfront Park.  We look forward to seeing you!

Fabulous Fourth at Ferry Farm

What could be more patriotic than spending July 4th on the grounds of George Washington’s Boyhood Home? Celebrate Independence Day the Revolutionary Way with acres of activities for all ages! Play colonial games, tour the Washington House, meet a George Washington reenactor, watch a flag retirement ceremony, talk with archaeologists around an active dig site, make a paper tricorn hat, explore different historical encamped military units, visit a macaroni selfie station, be fascinated by “The Fossils of Ferry Farm” — and much more! Food trucks on-site, including Fredericksburg favorite, Juan More Taco!

July 4 Story Time for Kids
@Rising Sun Tavern Museum (Downtown Fredericksburg)
On the lawn behind the Rising Sun Tavern Museum for a celebration of Independence Day! Costumed interpreters will read children’s books on the American Revolution and this historic day in our nation’s history at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.  Bring the family for fun face painting themed around the Fourth of July. This family event is free and open to the public. Tour the authentic tavern that originally was home to the brother of George Washington and operated as a tavern in the early days of the United States. Tours are available at standard admission prices.

Fallen Heroes 5 Miler

It’s time to show your patriotism and get your running shoes on for the annual downtown Fredericksburg Fallen Heroes 5 miler.  This will be the 5th race in the Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix race series. This race is open to everyone to participate.

4th of July Spectacular
@John Lee Pratt Park
Stafford’s 4th of July Spectacular will kick off at 6pm at John Lee Pratt Park.  The evening will include live music, Surprise Grab Bags for family fun, yard games, food trucks, a DJ and Fireworks.  The Fredericksburg Concert Band will perform at Celebration Stage from 6:30pm-8pm.  The firework display will begin at dusk.  Admission is FREE and open to ALL.  Please note: parking is free and available onsite however it is limited, typically parking spaces fill up quickly and park will have to close the gate prior to dusk.  Please plan to carpool if possible!  Leashed well-behaved dogs are welcome!
