On Thursday, Comcast premiered its holiday ad, featuring the characters E.T. and Elliott from the 1982 film E.T., according to People. The four-minute ad, called “A Holiday Reunion,” reunites the friends after 37 years. Elliott, played again by Henry Thomas, has grown up, married and had two children of his own. In the ad, favorite scenes from the original film are re-enacted with Elliott’s kids, and Elliott’s family introduces the alien to the internet and virtual reality. “Lots changed since you were here,” says Elliott. It’s even revealed that E.T. has his own family on his planet. The ad can be seen online in its entirety; a two-minute preview was aired during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
