Kentucky Derby Will Allow Limited Number Of Fans To Attend

The Kentucky Derby will allow fans to attend when this year’s Run For The Roses finally goes down next month.

Churchill Downs officials say that up to 23,000 fans will be allowed to attend – a fraction of the typical attendance of around 150,000.

Tickets will be reserved seating only, with the infield and standing-room-only sections closed. All attendees will be subject to temperature and medical checks and must wear face coverings and maintain social distancing.

This year’s Derby was postponed from May 2nd to September 5th due to the pandemic.

Will other sports follow suit and begin allowing spectators? Are outdoor sports safer than indoors?
