President Trump Wants Checks Sent to Americans as Part of COVID-19 Response

During a Tuesday White House briefing, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said President Trump wants the government to send checks to Americans within the next two weeks to curb the economic fallout due to the novel Coronavirus.

Mnuchin didn’t have exact details but said “The President has instructed me that we have to do this now”, saying the amount would be significant.  He also said millionaires wouldn’t get a stimulus check. With stocks plummeting since the outbreak, the Federal Reserve has also cut interest rates in hopes of boosting the economy.
