San Diego Comic-Con Canceled for The 1st Time

Reuters reports that the annual San Diego Comic-Con has been called off for the first time in its 50-year history due to the global coronavirus outbreak, event organizers announced on Friday. The event had been scheduled for July, but “Continuous monitoring of health advisories and recent statements by the Governor of California have made it clear that it would not be safe to move forward with plans for this year,” organizers said in a statement.

The event, which has become a major venue for the entertainment industry to launch movies and TV shows, will not be made up in 2020, and will next take place July 22-25, 2021.
