On Monday’s The Voice, coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton and Nick Jonas watched as the remaining contestants kicked off night two of the knockouts, where contestants could pick their own songs and perform solo. On Monday, each contestant got advice from Mega Mentor James Taylor. Once the singing began, coach Nick Jonas was finally able to use his steal after being thwarted multiple times in earlier episodes. This time, Jonas poached Thunderstorm Artis from Team Legend, and he was excited about it. “I had my eye on (Artis) from the beginning and I’m maybe the luckiest man in the world for having pulled this off,” Jonas said. Artis had tempted fate by singing a John Legend song, which apparently even Legend doesn’t think is a good idea. “I have a reputation of being hard on people doing my songs,” Legend said to Artis, before picking Mandi Castillo, who had performed a rendition of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me,” as the winner.

Another highlight of the night was the battle between Toneisha Harris and Cedrice. After Jonas chose Harris as his winner, Clarkson swooped in and stole Cedrice. “I had to steal Cedrice because there’s no one like her on the show,” Clarkson explained. “She’s got this different vibe from everyone else: She’s peaceful and passionate.” Cedrice has now been on Team Legend, Team Shelton and now Team Clarkson. “You have to stop doing this to me,” she joked. The Voice is expected to produce remaining finalist competitions remotely beginning May 4, and name a winner two weeks later.
